We’re happy to report that we participate in the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield.
Information We Collect
There are three basic categories of information we collect:
• Information you choose to give us.
• Information we get when you use our services.
• Information we get from third parties.
When you interact with our services, we collect the information that you choose to share with us. Information Collected or Received from You Creating an Account and Profile Information If you create an account, you will provide us with certain information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email address, and phone number ("Personally Identifiable Information" or "PII"). We may also collect non-identifying demographic information (such as your gender or date of birth), zip code and other information that is not considered PII because it cannot be used by itself to identify you. Contacts When you give us authorization, we will access your contacts information from your address book on your mobile device ("Contacts"). We will use your Contacts in order to identify other Users that you may know and to provide you with suggestions for others Users with whom you may want to connect or invite to contribute on platform. For example, the Services may indicate a Connection that you and one or more participants on platform have in common which you may want to invite to join platform. Use of Your Information Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to administer your use of the Services (including your account, if you are a User), and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services. When you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you volunteer.
We use this information to:
• provide, test, improve, promote and personalize Marsplay Services
• fight spam and other forms of abuse
• generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use our Services
When you create your Marsplay account, and authenticate with a third-party service (like Twitter, Facebook or Google) we may collect, store, and periodically update information associated with that third-party account, such as your lists of friends or followers. We will never publish through your third- party account without your permission.
Marsplay won’t transfer information about you to third parties for the purpose of providing or facilitating third-party advertising to you. We won’t sell information about you.
We may share your account information with third parties in some circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) to a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards; (3) with academic or non-profit researchers, with aggregation, anonymization, or pseudonomization; (4) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal process; (5) when we have a good faith belief that doing so will help prevent imminent harm to someone.
If we are going to share your information in response to legal process, we’ll give you notice so you can challenge it (for example by seeking court intervention), unless we’re prohibited by law or believe doing so may endanger others. We will object to requests for information about users of our services that we believe are improper.
In some cases we’ll ask for consent to use your information for specific purposes. If we do, we’ll make sure you can revoke your consent in our services or through your device permissions. Even if we’re not relying on consent to use your information, we may ask you for permission to access data like contacts and location.
If you let us use your information, you can always revoke your permission by changing the settings on your device if your device offers those options. Though as a result, certain services may lose full functionality.
If for some reason you ever want to delete your account, You can also delete some information in the app, like photos you’ve saved to Memories, Our Story submissions, and search history.
Marsplay uses third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Amazon, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run Marsplay. We maintain two types of logs: server logs and event logs. By using Marsplay Services, you authorize Marsplay to transfer, store, and use your information in any country where we operate.
Third Party Content and Integrations
Our services may also contain third-party links and search results, include third-party integrations, or offer a co-branded or third-party-branded service. Through these links, third-party integrations, and co- branded or third-party-branded services, you may be providing information (including personal information) directly to the third party, us, or both. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for how those third parties collect or use your information. As always, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of every third-party service that you visit or use, including those third parties you interact with through our services.
Our services are not intended for—and we don’t direct them to—anyone under 13. And that’s why we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. In addition, we may limit how we collect, use, and store some of the information of EU users between 13 and 16. In some cases, this means we will be unable to provide certain functionality to these users. If we need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your information and your country requires consent from a parent, we may require your parent’s consent before we collect and use that information.
By using our Services, you authorize us to transfer, store, and use your information in the any country where we operate. Where your data is disclosed to our processors, it is subject by contract to at least the same level of data protection as that set out in this statement.
